Well, it came and it's gone! Twestival, 2011 was a great learning experience and Detroit looks forward to their continuned growth and the awesome event that will occur in 2012! As you can see above, we raised $1200.00, shy of what we would have liked - but we know Detroit will step up and do so much more next year!
We'll post the video of the evening as we get it out of production. And watch here for occasional updates, posts and links to other happenings in Detroit and around the world as we work continually to better our great city and the globe! Thank you again to all our sponsors, our hosts and Twestival Global!

Wow - another new sponsor for Twestival Detroit - Yelp Detroit has joined as our newest supporter! They are one of the premier Social Check-in sites in the area and we're so excited that they are behind the social good Twestival is here to do! Thank you Annette and all your supporters - we hope to see many of you checking in on March 24 at Twestival Detroit as we raise funds in support of Forgotten Harverst!

Twestival Detroit is excited and very thankful to be able to announce the location of our event - Harmonie Park! They won't even be fully opened for business, yet are opening their doors for Twestival Detroit's event to raise funds for Forgotten Harvest!
"Harmonie Park is leading the way with social networking friendly content and rich media of every kind. If it's cutting edge, we're already doing it. Check out our world. We make it better than anyone. We deliver it better than anyone."
Forgotten Harvest rescued 19.4 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus, prepared and perishable food from a variety of sources such as grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors, and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food—that would otherwise go to waste—is delivered free of charge to emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. The individuals and families served are as diverse as the community’s residents – young and old, from all races and faiths.
Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste.
